Priorities
1
Safe and Healthy Learning Environment
I firmly believe in supporting students, academically and emotionally, at every stage of their education. All students have the potential for academic success, but their individual needs are different. If we are to cultivate successful students, we need to meet them where they are, identify and address their specific needs, and provide a healthy learning environment in which they each can thrive. We have effective tools in place for supporting students academically, and to continue supporting them emotionally, we must continue providing them access to safe spaces on campus. I will advocate for policies that respect and protect our students of color and our LGBTQ+ students, and oppose any attempt to silence the voices or limit the rights of marginalized students. I plan to be a conduit for engaging families and enlisting their involvement so that students also feel supported at home.

2
Fiscal Accountability
AUSD has some great opportunities ahead with the Art and Music K-12 Education Funding Initiative (Proposition 28) and a potential school bond for school facilities improvements. I am excited to provide leadership as we navigate the ways those funds can be put to the best use for our students. I will ensure responsible allocation of Propsition 28 art and music funding to create innovative and distinctive programs, greater learning opportunities for students, and new employment positions for teachers and staff. I will verify that all expenditures of school bond funds for campus improvements promote sustainability and long-term savings for the District to allow us to invest more in our students and educators.
3
Career Readiness
College isn’t the only option seniors have following graduation. Locally, there are apprenticeships, trade certification programs, and adult education courses that can lead to rewarding careers in our community, but many of our students are not aware of them. I have frequently suggested in LCAP and Parent Advisory meetings that more emphasis be placed on career readiness. As Trustee, I will have the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and District staff to find ways to get information to our students about the many career and trade paths available to them. I will also support expanding our Career Technology Education (CTE) pathways and dual enrollment program with Cuesta College to give students a jump start on their career paths. I want our schools to provide our students every opportunity to meet their post-graduation goals, whatever they may be, so they can succeed in school and in life.

My logo represents the stepping stones of public education: elementary school, middle school, and high school, culminating in graduation. I strongly believe our students, their families, and educators should be supported at every step.
